Do I Have to Pay My Hurricane Deductible Up Front?

In the event that your property sustains damages as a direct result of a hurricane, your hurricane deductible will be deducted from the amount of your settlement. This means that payments can only be issued if the amount of your damages exceeds your hurricane deductible. When making repairs to your home, you will be responsible for paying for the cost of repairs up to your deductible amount and your insurance payment will be used to cover the rest. Please contact your Agent or Adjuster if the cost of repairs is greater than the amount of your deductible and any received insurance payments, as an additional assessment of damages may be necessary.

Know that any costs incurred due to an evacuation are subject to your hurricane deductible, as well.
